Cultural entrepreneurship is an economic as well as socio-cultural activity, based on innovation, risk taking and maximizing opportunities. This online workshop focuses on the essence, uniqueness and importance of cultural entrepreneurship in the overall strategic management and policy-making process. An important aspect of the workshop is intrapreneurship in the cultural sector and how to manage internal innovations in a systematic way.

This online workshop on Cultural Entrepreneurship combines theoretical discourses with practical case studies from different countries around the world. Participants critically analyze entrepreneurial cases and examples by implementing appropriate theoretical models. As part of the learning process, we identify key issues and suggest strategic solutions for the development of organizations, as well as from the perspective of cultural policy-making. These include:

  • How can we, as cultural planners, managers and policy-makers, promote a proper environment in which cultural entrepreneurship can flourish?
  • What are the ways to connect creative practices and innovative tools with new business and financial models, and secure appropriate financial and material infrastructures to support them?
  • What strategies do cultural entrepreneurs need to elaborate in order to manage a start-up creative enterprise in a sustainable mode?
  • What is the role of strategic alliances, networking, collaboration and partnership in the entrepreneurial practice in the cultural sector?
