The National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts βKr. Sarafovβ (NATFIZ), Bulgaria, in cooperation with the IN SITU consortium partners, completed successfully a full cycle of training seminars and workshops in the 6 LABs locations as part of the capacity-building program of the project in Rauma, Finland; Guelf, Ireland; Valmiera, Latvia; Borgarnes, Iceland, Ponta Delgada, Azores, and Sibenik, Croatia. The training covered important and necessary subjects for the local creative communities, such as funding and fundraising, storytelling and audience development, strategic partnerships, digital marketing, social entrepreneurship, and others. The results of the capacity-building, training and mentoring were widely disseminated at the National level in Bulgaria through a series of round tables with key local cultural operators where the IN ISTU project was presented:
- Cultural heritage, Media, Representation, Publicity, round table at the University of National and World Economy, Sofia (24 March 2025).
- Culture, arts, and creative industries: an important factor in the development of regions and the role of municipal authorities, roundtable at the Goethe Institute, Sofia (24 April 2025).
Prof. Dr. Lidia Varbanova, IN SITU project Lead on behalf of NATFIZ, gave interviews at the national radio in Bulgaria in May 2025: the Horizon programme and the Hristo Botev programme. She emphasized the importance of the connection between scientific research and artistic practice for having an informed cultural policy framework at the local level and presented the results and feedback from the training seminars, as well as the mentoring process with the twelve identified case studies in the IN SITU project.
